Knock, Knock
I apologize for being MIA for the past few days, but sometimes life gets in the way. Luckily, it is Friday and I am going to get some much needed rest and relaxation this weekend! Over the next few days, I plan on looking at getting all new doors for my home. Our current doors are these ugly, hollow wood doors that are probably from the 1980 and are most definitely in need of replacing. I have been doing a little online research and I think I found the type of door I want. What do you guys think?
I like the simplicity of this 2 paneled door.
I like this 3 paneled door. It adds a nice architectural feel to the space.
I would love to a home some black doors in my home. Possibly in the entry way.
One thing that I would love to have in my home is a Dutch Door. This would look gorgeous, especially as the door in my family room that leads out to the patio. These doors are so sophisticated and elegant. I really like the fact that you can leave the bottom half shut and then leave the top half open to let that fresh summer air into your house.
Although, Dutch Doors are amazing. I don’t think they fit into the budget right now, but a girl can dream. One day I will have them.

Boardroom Beauty
In the business world it can be difficult to find that happy medium between stylish and business appropriate. Personally, I am so sick of those drab boring colors like grey, black, and white. I think it is definitely possible to bring some creative color to your wardrobe while keeping it classy. Recently, I have been attending various Public Relations conferences and tours of different PR firms and business attire is a must! So I have been on the hunt to find cute clothes that express my personality while maintaining a professional appearance. From shirts to shoes take a look a some of my favorite items for the corporate world.

Outdoor Living
Since the weather is warming up here in Michigan, I have been dying to get some new patio furniture and create an outdoor living space. One of my favorite things to do in the summer is to sit outside on my back porch and have barbecues, read a good book, and just relax. I adore spaces that bring the indoors out. A trend that I really loving for outdoor furniture is the rustic wood/teak look. I think it adds character to the outdoors. Below are just a few of my favorite outdoor living rooms.
I am currently loving the look of teak or wood outdoor living rooms. It adds a lived-in rustic feel to the space.
Ballard Designs has a gorgeous outdoor teak dining set.
I really love this outdoor set from West Elm.
Now here is a way to get the look of teak furniture at a budget friendly prices. The table and chairs are from Ikea. Ikea has some great outdoor pieces and they are quite affordable.

Simply Sheepskin
One of the many things that I noticed while in Switzerland was that there was sheepskin throws on almost every chairs at the outdoor cafes. I don’t know if this is just a Switzerland thing, but I must day I like their thinking! The sheepskin throws made the outdoor cafes even more charming than they already were. I am dying to stop by Ikea and pick up a few for my home. Ikea has them for like $30.00 and I would love to make my own “outdoor cafe” area in my backyard. Take a look at some Sheepskin inspiration below!

This was an image that I took in Zurich of some of the many Sheepskin throws that I saw. I was going to buy some while I was there, but they were quite expensive.

Switzerland
So last week my husband and I returned home from Switzerland. We had a great time and spent the last week trying to rest from our whirlwind vacation. When we first arrived in Switzerland we stayed in the beautiful city of Zurich for a night. On every street there were outdoor cafes, cobblestone streets, and amazing architecture. It felt like I was in a movie since Zurich was such a charming city. The next day, my husband and I caught a train for a 2 and 1/2 hour ride to Davos. The good thing was that the ride went by so fast because of all of the beautiful scenery! When we stepped off of the train I was mesmerized by the mountains, they were stunning and seemed to never end. During our first night in Davos we got settled in, explored the town, and pumped our selves up for a morning of skiing. I must admit, I was deathly afraid to ski down the mountain, but after a few runs my fear subsided and it turned out it to be really fun! When we got to the top of the mountain I was in awe of the scenery, it was so beautiful. Overall, the trip was a great experience and ton of fun. It is something that my husband and I will remember for a long time.
The amazing outdoor cafes! I wish we had more of these in the States.
Zurich is such an gorgeous city. They had some wonderful shopping!
The weather was beautiful while we where in Switzerland.
I had to take a picture of this building because of those amazing chevron shutters. Chevron and stripes were everywhere in Switzerland.
The beautiful and amazing alps!

Jennifer Lawrence – The Hunger Games Hottie
If you haven’t heard of Jennifer Lawrence you better get prepared. She is about to blow up the scene with her new movie The Hunger Games. The movie is based off the super popular young adult novels by Suzanne Collins. Jennifer Lawrence started her acting career doing T.V. shows and mostly unknown movies. In 2010 she gained fame with the movie Winter’s Bone, which was nominated for many awards. Her newest role is about to burst her into a new level of stardom. Personally, I am a huge fan. I love how naturally beautiful she is and as an avid reader of The Hunger Games I think she fits the main character’s role perfectly! I can’t wait to see the movie!
